About Us
Kids at Play is a service for children with additional needs. We provide a preschool service, an afterschool service and play and social skills groups. Our aim is to follow a child-led, play-based approach which promotes happy play among peers. We further aim to provide a high quality, home from home service to the children we work with.
We offer age and ability appropriate experiences so that every child in our care can reach their fullest potential in a happy, fun, and nurturing environment. We seek to support children’s development by building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with families, listening to and understanding the children’s needs, facilitating play while scaffolding children’s development.
We provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our children and their families. Our children enjoy an environment that is designed to be inclusive and appropriate while naturally promoting their development socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively under the care of highly trained professionals.
Our children are encouraged and supported to express themselves through creative play, art, music and many more age and ability appropriate activities that help with their development.
The children attending Kids at Play are aged between 3 and 15 years. We organise age-appropriate groups for the children daily.
We do not require a diagnosis of any kind for a child to be enrolled with us. We understand the waiting lists are long and the complex nature of obtaining a diagnosis. We also understand that some parents do not want to seek a diagnosis for their own reasons.
